Self portraiture has always been a method of catharsis for me. In Hindu mythology, the Third Eye holds great significance- almost every goddess is represented with the third eye on her forehead. Coming from India to the United States, my eyes opened up- to adulthood, to a whole new world, to my inner self. This painting/drawing is about discovery within the self- the variety of textures drawing from the complexity of my deeper thoughts.
